Full Time, Ongoing Ballarat Location Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 (plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging) Award-winning inclusive employer Our Opportunity Are you a strategic, values-driven leader passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people in care? Join Cafs as our Manager - Youth Care, leading a diverse suite of programs that provide trauma‑informed support for young people who cannot live with their families, including Youth Residential Care, Better Futures, Home Stretch, Youth Case Management, Targeted Care Packages, and the After‑Hours program. You’ll guide and develop experienced Team Leaders, strengthen external partnerships, ensure compliance, and drive service improvement so young people can lead flourishing lives. About You You are an experienced leader with tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology or a relevant field (leadership qualifications desirable). Minimum five years post‑graduate experience, including senior leadership in complex, high‑pace, regulated environments; experience leading Out‑of‑Home Care (OOHC) services is desirable. Demonstrated capability in change management, stakeholder engagement, and service quality/compliance. A trauma‑informed practice lens and commitment to TBRI® as Cafs’ model of care is essential. Skills & Attributes Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology or related discipline Minimum five years’ experience in leadership roles within complex service environments Expertise in strategic planning and continuous improvement Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Financial stewardship and resource management Ability to lead and navigate change effectively Our Organisation Cafs (Child and Family Services Ballarat) is an independent community service organisation based in Ballarat for over 160 years.
