German MLRO

As a German MLRO / Geldwäschebeauftragte you will be responsible for helping to develop an AML/CFT framework to ensure compliance with the Group’s AML/CFT obligations in Germany. Reporting to the Head of AFC - International you will be part of the Anti Money Laundering & MLRO team. For this role you can be based in either Vienna, Malta, London, or Gibraltar.

What you will do

• Responsible for the AML framework of our German business.
• Make final decision on all instances of external reporting of Suspicious Activity, approval of PEPs and continuance of the business relationship with higher risk customers.
• Conduct and maintain an AML/CFT business risk assessment and oversee the development of appropriate risk-based controls.
• Develop policies, processes and procedures in line with AML legislation to ensure Entain's German business complies with money laundering regulations.
• Provide AML Subject Matter Expertise to advise the wider business, liaising with various internal stakeholders including AML operations, risk, product and compliance teams.  
• Identify any audit requirements (request these if necessary) and oversee any internal/external audits and the closure of any findings.
• Standardize reporting requirements – both statistics (SARs, AML closures etc.) and overall trends and issues for the German business.
• Stay current with money laundering and terrorist financing behaviours, issues, policies, regulations, criminal typologies, industry best practices, and developing trends in all our international jurisdictions.
• Represent the company at conferences, trade bodies and with the gambling regulator.
• Oversee the development and delivery of a training program for our German business.

Who you are

• Are you a fluent German and English speaker with excellent communication skills?
• Do you have demonstrable previous experience as an MLRO in a regulated market, preferably within Germany?
• Do you have extensive AML subject matter expertise and knowledge of best practices?
• Do you have experience of designing and implementing an AML/CFT framework, including conducting Business Risk Assessments, developing appropriate controls and embedding into policy?
• Have you designed and delivered an AML/CFT training programme?
• Do you have the ability to organise and analyse complex data sets?
• Do you have experience of dealing with the German FIU and other regulatory authorities?
• Do you have experience of reporting SARs? 
• Do you have an AML qualification? 
• Can you demonstrate great people management skills?
• Do you have knowledge of AML tools and systems?
