As a strategic and hands-on leader with a passion for technology, you'll play a key role as CTO in shaping Nuki's technological and product landscape. Working closely with the CEO and COO, you will foster a high-performance culture and drive the company's continued growth. This role offers the opportunity to scale an innovative business, deliver cutting-edge products, and lead a talented, collaborative team — giving you the chance to actively shape the future of Nuki.

YOUR ROLE
  • You lead, develop, and inspire the tech & product team through trust-based and empathetic collaboration.
  • You create and execute forward-thinking technology roadmaps aligned with Nuki's strategic vision and business objectives.
  • You ensure the highest product quality and security standards through optimized development and testing processes.
  • You build and maintain a modern, agile environment that fosters continuous learning, innovation, and organizational growth.
  • You strategically manage technology budgets, resource planning, and partnerships with external collaborators.
  • You collaborate closely with other departments to deliver innovative and market-leading products.
  • You represent Nuki's technical vision to external stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • You have over 10 years of experience in the full lifecycle of hardware and software product development and operation, ideally in IoT or smart home environments.
  • You have a proven track record of leadership in technology-driven companies, navigating agile development approaches (Scrum, DevOps) in dynamic, fast-scaling environments.
  • You have strong technical expertise in software architecture, cloud technologies, and IT security.
  • You have experience in hardware development, with a solid understanding of industrialization and manufacturing fundamentals.
  • You are experienced in defining and implementing technology roadmaps and development strategies.
  • You have a solid knowledge of budget planning and resource management.
  • With exceptional communication skills, you make complex technical topics accessible and meaningful across all levels of the organization.
  • You encourage an empathetic leadership style based on trust and collaboration.
  • You are a hands-on problem solver, always ready to tackle challenges and drive solutions.
  • You are willing to relocate to Graz or spend at least three days a week working on-site.

For the advertised position, a minimum salary of EUR 4,485.00 gross per month applies according to the collective agreement. Willingness to significantly overpay if you have the appropriate qualifications. This position is open for applications in Graz.
