Senior Flavorist for Savory (f/m/x) in Vienna, Austria - one of the world's most livable cities
YOUR FUTURE ROLE

As an integral part of innovations, you will develop new flavors, ensuring a successful creation process with customers according to business objectives.

  • Create and modify savory flavors to meet project requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development
  • Provide flavors that meet all project needs like GMP, sample scale-up, production, regulatory, etc.
  • Collaborate with portfolio, application & CI teams to address tonality gaps and create new flavors
  • Improve the creation palette by partnering with innovation, compliance, and procurement teams
  • Mentor young Flavorists and ensure knowledge sharing within and outside Europe
  • Contribute to the Global Creation Community for global connection and personal development
  • Learn about all areas of the company incl. analytical chemistry, sensory, regulatory, flavor delivery, manufacturing, etc.
  • Serve as a technical expert and advisor for ingredient and flavor performance
  • Lead as a technical expert to resolve production issues and customer complaints when needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or similar
  • 10+ years of experience as a Flavorist in savory flavor creation
  • Trainee experience covering various aspects of savory flavor creation
  • Skills in using savory tools and ingredients like top notes, reaction keys, oleoresins and extracts
  • Proven experience in savory top note creation & sensory understanding of the molecular palette
  • Expert tasting skills
  • Experience interacting with customers to effectively discuss project and creation needs
  • Project management skills with the ability to successfully support large development projects
  • Intermediate knowledge of local and regional regulatory requirements for flavors
  • Intermediate knowledge of application equipment, ingredients, and manufacturing procedures for snack products
  • Expert knowledge of flavor manufacturing equipment and processes
