About the Role
As we continue to build upon our success, an exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced 1st 8+ Coach, to join our school community on either a casual or part time, fixed term basis.
Successful applicants will be responsible for providing quality coaching services to St Catherine’s students involved in the 2024/2025 rowing program. Specific responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, assisting in developing a positive rowing culture aligned with the school's values, manage and support Senior Squad activities, and help with equipment and trial processes under rowing leadership direction.
To be successful in this opportunity you will require:
- Experience and expertise in rowing coaching and programming.
- Strong skills in use of rowing-specific technologies and data management and analysis.
- Experience in developing and coaching of school-level rowers, with proven success.
- An inclusive, positive and enthusiastic approach to coaching.
- Knowledge and eagerness to continue to apply best practice in coaching.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A proven ability to maintain positive relationships and displays a good level of self awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and encourage young people.
- Demonstrated ability to competently drive a speedboat.
- Understanding of the pastoral and duty of care responsibilities involved in coaching children.
- Willingness to uphold the ethos and values of the School at all times.
- Proven reliability and dependability.
- Ability to act as a role model in both rowing skills and sportsmanship.
- First Aid qualifications.
- Minimum Level 1 Coaching Accreditation.
- Working with Children Check.
- Victorian Drivers Licence (Light Rigid Licence Preferred).
- Boat License preferred.
