Job SummaryAs the appointee, you will contribute to research, course management, teaching and service in the area of business analytics within the Centre, Department of Management & Organisations and the wider Business School. The successful applicant will have teaching experience within a higher education environment, specifically within business analytics. A PhD degree or equivalent is essential. We are particularly interested in candidates whose teaching and research interests are summarized by one or several of the following keywords: statistical and machine learning algorithms, artificial intelligence, deep learning, big data, rule-based/hybrid ensembles, predictive and prescriptive modelling, optimization, linear/nonlinear programming, network programming, integer programming, stochastic optimization, web analytics, web scraping, social media analytics, data and process mining, social network analytics, text mining, visual analytics, information and telecommunication technologies, mobile technologies, management information systems, geographical information systems, information modelling, vehicular traffic flow simulation, autonomous vehicles and connected vehicles, vehicle dynamics and control, robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles related to smart cities.The position is responsible to the Head of Department. You will be expected to make a contribution to research, teaching and service within the Department, Centre for Business Data Analytics, School and University in line with the expectations of Business School academic staff.Key responsibilities

Your specific work capabilities (selection criteria)For Lecturer (Level B):Qualifications PhD or near completion in business analytics or a related fieldResearch and Scholarship
  • Demonstrate a strong capacity to undertake research and publish in high quality international peerreviewed journals;
  • Demonstrate an ability to attract significant research funding through grants and industry collaborations; and
  • Show evidence of a willingness to direct and supervise honours and postgraduate research students.
Teaching and LearningDemonstrate a personal contribution and commitment to high quality teaching.ServiceWithin the University: Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to be involved in service and administration in the Centre, Department, School and University.Outside the University: Where appropriate, applicants should show a willingness to liaise with members of the community, professional and relevant industry bodies.GeneralWillingness to work collaboratively with other members of the School.
