Inventory Specialist

The primary focus of the role is to ensure an optimal level of the correct inventory is carried through balancing the cost of ordering, cost of holding inventory and the business impact of a stockout.
To identify and rectify bottle necks or process non-compliance within the end to end material supply chain process to ensure uninterrupted supply of goods as required.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ensure the inventory integrity is maintained through continuous review of inventory transactions being performedContinuous optimisation of inventory through adopting standard ROP and EOQ methodologiesReview of stocking requests to ensure an optimal level of inventory is put forward by Materials Management for approval, followed by processing the approved inventory levelsCoordinating Disposal RequestsManage and/or participate in special projects as deemed appropriate by Team Lead to ensure optimal performance of associated Materials Management processes.Assist with periodic and ad-hoc reporting as requested by Materials Management LeadProvide guidance and support to other departments with regards to Materials Management processesPro-actively seek out Cost Avoidance opportunities and activelyengage and participate in continuous improvement effortsKeep the Team Lead informed of any significant risks or issuesand provide advice and recommendations for mitigation andresolutionThe role has no direct reports but is required to undertake domestic travel and is required to be at offshore/onshore locations as the needs ariseKey Skills and Experience Required:Superior Supply Chain experience and knowledge of InventoryManagement processes, strategies, analysis, and philosophiesMinimum 3 years plus experience working in the SAP MM module, and have a thorough understanding of both AP and PM Modules on a functional levelMinimum 3 years plus Inventory Management experience within asset intensive industries e.g. Oil and Gas, Mining, Power GenerationAdvanced skills using MS Office packages i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point and OutlookHas a good understanding of the working principles of Procurement, Disposals, Stock Checking, Cataloguing, Quality control, Logistics and Warehousing
