An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced broker to join Marsh's Construction practice in Brisbane. Reporting to the Construction Practice Leader, QLD, you will be a senior member of the team and be responsible for the retention, growth and profitability of a portfolio of key construction accounts (both annuals and one-off major projects). This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as the client's trusted advisor, pursuing new business development in conjunction with the Growth team, assist in managing the Brisbane team and expanding the breadth of Marsh products and services to our clients.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring that a high degree of quality customer service is provided to all clients at all times
  • Work with and assist the Construction Practice Leader to prepare, manage, implement and achieve State business plans, strategies and goals
  • Consistently meet and exceed own and team revenue, expense and trading profit budgets
  • Possess and apply a thorough understanding of the client's business, risk management and insurance needs to ensure that our services and programs continue to meet with their needs and expectations
  • Lead, plan and implement clear and effective renewal and broking strategies, ensuring renewal process and results meet client expectations
  • Actively developing additional business from existing portfolio.



What you need to have: 

  • 5+ yearsâ experience in managing a portfolio of mid-large complex clients, creating and converting new business and growth opportunities   
  • Extensive technical skills on key General Insurance classes, with construction insurance experience  essential
  • Excellent working relationships with insurers and underwriting partners
  • Exceptional communication, influencing/selling, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of client organisations including the âCâ Suite as well as internal Marsh stakeholders.
