We are seeking a strategic, commercially-minded leader for our vital financial, assets and technology portfolio. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive Director – Finance, Property & Information Services is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This role oversees finance, property, information services, procurement, and Cottee Orchard, ensuring Wesley Mission's financial and real assets and technologies are strategically managed for optimal sustainability and mission impact.

The successful candidate will drive innovation, enhance financial performance, and leverage assets and technologies to strengthen operational efficiencies and organisational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial & Asset Leadership – Serve as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for regulatory purposes, ensuring financial sustainability, risk management, and governance.
  • Strategic Property & Investment Management – Oversee property development, maintenance, and investment strategies, ensuring real estate assets contribute to long-term mission goals.
  • Technology & Digital Transformation – Oversee the development and implementation of a technology strategy that enhances efficiency, security, and innovation.
  • Governance & Compliance – Ensure strict adherence to financial regulations, governance frameworks, and risk management best practices.
  • Procurement & Resource Optimisation – Lead strategic procurement initiatives, ensuring cost-effective resource management.
  • High-Impact Leadership – Build and lead a team of senior finance, property, and technology professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, Audit Committee, Uniting Care Australia, and Uniting Church Executives, ensuring financial and strategic alignment.

About You

You are a seasoned executive leader with extensive experience in finance, property, and technology, capable of influencing at Board and CEO levels. Your strategic mindset, financial acumen, and commitment to organisational impact make you an ideal candidate to lead Wesley Mission's financial and asset strategy.

  • Postgraduate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • Significant executive leadership experience in financial management, asset optimisation, and technology strategy.
  • Proven track record in financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and strategic investment management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive financial performance and influence at Board level.
  • Deep expertise in governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Experience in leading digital transformation and financial technology initiatives.
  • Personal commitment to Wesley Mission's Christian ethos and values.
