Are you an experienced Accounts Payable professional with experience leading high-performing teams? Do you have the ability to streamline processes, reduce EOM timeframes and support a positive, collaborative work culture? We’re seeking an Accounts Payable Team Leader who is self-driven, confident and passionate to join our finance team in a hands-on role at our Head Office in Parkside on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, this is a newly created role to support growth following an internal promotion. As the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will manage the accounts payable function ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with policies and tax regulations. You will also lead initiatives to streamline processes and enhance efficiency through automation. Leading a skilled small team, you will collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders and take a proactive and hands-on approach.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Accurately and efficiently process accounts payable invoices, ensuring coding is accurate, monitoring the transactions to ensure integrity from start to finish.
- Manage and process high-volume invoices, including international processing and payments.
- Streamline workflows, optimise automated systems, improve processes and reduce end-of-month timeframes.
- Coordinate month-end balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain good supplier and customer relations ensuring that inquiries with respect to invoices are dealt with efficiently.
- Train and develop team members, fostering growth and capability.
- Support and lead the Accounts Payable team, the Office Coordinator and Reception, ensuring all functions run smoothly.
What You’ll Bring:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounts payable or similar senior role, with proven experience in leading teams.
- Experience in using QAD and Esker (desirable), with a strong understanding of automated AP systems.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounts payable processes and EOM requirements.
- Experience with intercompany invoicing is an advantage.
- A passion for streamlining processes and improving performance.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
- A proactive and hands-on approach, with the willingness to actively contribute to day-to-day operations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Finance (or similar).
