Payroll Manager/Safety Administror

We are on track to become the largest supplier and installer of specialist concrete sleeper products on the East Coast and are currently in a long-term growth stage. About the Position
We are currently looking for a new member to join our People & Safety team, with their time split across Brendale and Wakerley depending on which is more convenient. The role will be responsible for end-to-end payroll management across the business and assisting the safety team with planning and compliance utilizing our HR and Safety management systems. The position reports into the Head of People & Safety and works alongside the Safety Manager, Production Manager, and Construction Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Payroll/HR and Safety functions.
Payroll Manager Responsibilities:
- Execute payroll activities for all employees across two entities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records utilizing our payroll and HRM system, Employment Hero.
- Assist in maintaining employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Assist with talent acquisition process coordination and administration.
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
- Respond to employee and manager payroll-related inquiries.
Workplace Health & Safety Support Responsibilities:
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Assist in maintaining accurate safety records in our safety management system, The Fleet Office.
- Provide general Workplace Health & Safety support to the Safety Manager.
- Follow up and close out any action items resulting from meetings.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of safety communications.
- Systems administration including prequalification and ISO auditing support.

Education, Skills & Experience:

- 5 years of experience in payroll processing/management.
- Proficiency with Employment Hero or comparable Human Resource Information Systems and payroll software.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Australia & New Zealand.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and executing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in handling HR administrative tasks, including employee records management, benefits administration, and onboarding processes.
- Strong ability to meticulously review and verify data, ensuring precision in payroll calculations and HR documentation.
- Exposure/Experience with Quality Management Systems ISO 9001:2015 or similar.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances and role requirements.
