The Opportunity:
Are you a skilled trades Supervisor seeking a fresh challenge or an opportunity to get away from the tools?
QMM are seeking a Project Manager / Estimator with a background in Steel Fabrication to join us. In this client-facing role, you’ll lead the way in crafting innovative solutions for our quarry and mining clients
Responsibilities may include:
- Collaborating with clients to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Negotiating prices and rates with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Estimating from first principles.
- Preparing Scope of Works for Design & Construct projects.
- Conducting on-site visits to understand client needs and gather information for estimates.
- Identifying and assessing financial, technical, or execution risks.
- Working closely with workshop and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
About you:
This role would suit a current or upcoming Workshop Supervisor who is looking to progress their career.
- Trade qualification OR background in Fabrication / Boiler making.
- Extensive experience in a workshop environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritise tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Can interpret technical drawings with precision.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive attitude.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor is advantageous.
- Strong work ethic and customer focus.
- Exposure to mechanical plant and equipment estimating is advantageous.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Project management experience is a plus
