Business Analyst – Transport

• Conduct in-depth technical and market analysis of mobility sectors, including road and automotive, rail, public transport, aviation, drones, maritime, and multimodal transport.
• Value Chain Analysis
  • Analyze upstream and downstream value chains, producing specific reports on related industries and the use of space services and data.
• EU Space Services Uptake
  • Identify technical and business drivers to enhance user technology compatibility and optimization for EU Space Programme services.
• User Needs and Requirements
  • Assess user needs, their evolution, and emerging trends, including requirements for new space services and modifications of existing services.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and impact assessments to evaluate the benefits and value of EU Space Programme services and their evolution.
• Analyze synergies between different EU Space Programme components to maximize benefits for mobility users and related applications.
• Legislation and Certification Analysis
  • Examine existing and future legislation, certification frameworks, and interoperability needs, providing inputs for related industrial policies.
• Adoption Roadmap Development
  • Support the creation and implementation of adoption roadmaps in coordination with Member States.
• Stakeholder Consultation
  • Engage with stakeholders, organizing, preparing, implementing, and analyzing results from the Mobility Session in the User Consultation Platform (UCP).
• Mobility Network Coordination
  • Facilitate the formation of dedicated user groups, collect inputs, organize relevant meetings, and manage follow-up actions.
• Marketing and Awareness Building
  • Develop marketing tools and conduct awareness-building activities to promote mobility services among key players in the value chain.
• Support the integration of space technologies into user devices by validating and demonstrating technology, developing guidelines, and conducting pilot projects.
• Training and Guidance
  • Develop training materials and guidance documents to educate users on the benefits and applications of space services in mobility.
• Support for EU Space Regulations
  • Assist in implementing the Space Regulation for mobility sectors, ensuring alignment with the EU Space Strategy and monitoring key performance indicators.

• Educational Background
  • A degree in business analysis, transportation, engineering, space technologies, economics, or a related field.
• Experience in Mobility Sectors
  • Proven experience in transport-related industries, including road, rail, aviation, maritime, or smart mobility solutions.
• Knowledge of Space Technologies
  • Understanding of GNSS, Earth Observation, and other EU Space Programme components and their applications in transport and mobility.
• Analytical Skills
  • Strong ability to conduct market analysis, cost-benefit studies, and impact assessments using economic and statistical modeling.
• Stakeholder Engagement Experience
  • Experience working with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry leaders, and research institutions.
• Regulatory Knowledge
  • Familiarity with EU transport policies, regulations, and certification frameworks relevant to mobility sectors.
• Project Management Skills
  • Ability to manage projects, coordinate adoption roadmaps, and facilitate collaboration across different organizations.
• Communication and Presentation Skills
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, both in written reports and presentations.
• Technical Proficiency
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools, GIS, economic modeling software, or other relevant digital tools.
• Language Skills
  • Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset.
