The group of Daniela Pollak (IMP/IMBA adjunct investigator) is seeking a highly motivated and creativePostdoctoral Researcherwith a strong background inneuroscienceand expertise inmouse optogenetics, chemogenetics, viral tracing, tissue clearing, and whole-brain microscopy.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team investigating the neural circuits underlying social and emotional behaviours in mouse models. Our lab integrates cutting-edge molecular and circuit-level approaches to understand how specific neuronal populations contribute to complex behaviours and neurological disorders.
Qualifications
- PhD in neuroscience, neurobiology, or a related field (or PhD defence date scheduled soon).
- Mouse surgeries(stereotaxic injections of viral vectors, optogenetic/chemogenetic implantations).
- Viral tracing methods(anterograde and/or retrograde).
- Tissue clearing(e.g., iDISCO, CLARITY) andlight-sheet/confocal microscopyof large volumes.
- A strong publication record in relevant areas is highly desirable.
- Excellentcommunication and teamwork skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Motivation todevelop novel protocolsandpush technical boundariesin circuit neuroscience.
