The Campus

Located in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus will open in 2027 as the newest addition to Caulfield Grammar School, providing high-quality Junior School education for students in Years 4–6, with plans for a full Prep to Year 6 offering in the future. This Campus will also feature a dedicated hub for research, collaboration, and future-focused learning.

The Role

As a member of the School Executive and Campus Leadership team, the Deputy Principal – Head of Shelford Campus will oversee and lead the implementation of the School's strategic vision and act as a pedagogical leader, focused on delivering key outcomes in Teaching and Learning guided by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). You will develop and manage employees and the campus's daily operations while applying a system-wide perspective that supports the School's 'One School' approach.

As the founding Head of Shelford Campus, you will provide visionary leadership in overseeing the establishment and growth of our inaugural campus while also overseeing the strategic direction and implementation of the School Innovation and Learning Centre.

Key Duties

  • Lead the establishment of our inaugural Shelford Campus.
  • Demonstrate a One School approach through collaboration with the Campus Leadership Team and alignment between campuses.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of Campus operational plans.
  • Lead the implementation of Junior School initiatives.
  • Oversee the development of the School Innovation & Learning Centre (SILC) at Shelford Campus.
  • Manage and implement systems to monitor standards of safety, social conduct, uniform, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Pursue academic excellence, delivering outstanding outcomes.
  • Ensure high quality and inclusive teaching and learning standards.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and enhance the schools learning program for students and employees (IB/PYP Program).
  • Assist in developing the School's internal capability, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Deliver the School's vision, strategy, and values with a sense of shared purpose.
  • Ensure compliance with the School's Child Safety Code of Conduct and all relevant policies.
  • Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience leading and implementing Teaching and Learning outcomes in a reputable school.
  • Previous senior leadership experience in a large secondary educational school; experience with complex, multiple-campus schools is ideal.
  • Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is desirable.
  • Experience in leading pedagogical and curriculum change.
  • Experience designing and executing large scale, system thinking projects across complex schools.
  • Proven exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold current VIT Registration.
