The Privacy and Data Delivery Team sit within the Bankwest Chief Control Office. We provide outstanding advice and support to support Bankwest to become Australia's favourite digital bank while driving risk maturity and data and privacy risk management to ensure our colleagues, customers and community are protected.

The Data Management Team are responsible for uplifting data quality and data management practices within Bankwest. You will lead a team of Data SMEs who support Bankwest to manage their data end to end to ensure compliance with Group Standards and Frameworks and who design and manage the tools required to support that compliance. We embed best in class Data Management practices and empower the business to achieve customer outcomes while assuring that data risk is within appetite. We aim to operationalize data management risk by strengthening business understanding as the data risk environment continues to mature.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager Data Management plays a critical role in driving the success of the Privacy and Data Delivery Team Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and coaching a team of Data professionals to drive outstanding outcomes for Bankwest
  • Championing and supporting Data Quality outcomes for Bankwest
  • Work with Group Data Office and Bankwest to implement Data Management policy suite across all data initiatives, including development of appropriate data quality metrics.
  • Lead and support the implementation of data management, ensuring that the Data Management policy suite is entrenched within various data initiatives as well as within BAU activities for domains.
  • Developing and managing relationships with product teams, technology teams, senior executives, finance and the project community to drive optimal outcomes supporting the data strategy
  • Working with the team to transform ad hoc and project activity into end-to-end repeatable processes to provide outstanding support to Bankwest
  • Managing the overall performance of the Data Management team, driving operational excellence
  • Providing insights, trends and recommendations to drive improvements to the implementation of Data Management at Bankwest
  • Provide thought leadership into Bankwest and Group data functions

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with a positive approach and an ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Knowledge and experience of project lifecycle management and various project management methodologies including Agile.
  • Relevant knowledge in data management or related disciplines such as data management, data analytics, business analysis, risk, compliance, audit or policy
  • Ability to intermediate/facilitate dialogue between SME, technology, project and operational teams.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems that are both operational and strategic in nature
