Our client has a track record spanning more than 20 years and they have majority international blue chip ownership, which puts them at the top of the pile for financial stability. With established and high performing offices in Queensland and South Australia, they are expanding into Victoria in May 2025. Currently building approx. 1500 homes p.a. covering multi res, investment and retail homes, they have also developed several iconic high rise projects.

Off the back of this expansion, a newly created role exists for an experienced GM to set up and head up the new Victorian office, which will be based in Werribee. This exciting new opportunity will see you become a senior member of their management team, providing effective management of the business and its operations in Victoria, from sales acceptance through to site handover. The role will also provide training, guidance and leadership to this team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily business operations
  • Manage the state budget to meet objectives
  • Implement strategies and senior executive decisions
  • Improve organisational efficiency through process and system enhancements.
  • Actively support all phases of the project process, from quoting and delivery through to completion.
  • Ensure accurate costing and scheduling of projects
  • Provide overall support to teams, including drafting, estimating, permits and customer experience.
  • Ensuring consistent achievement of site starts within stipulated time frames.
  • Assist with developing and overseeing governance processes.
  • Work closely with sales and construction teams to ensure customer experience aligns with the brand and values.
  • Co-ordinate projects to ensure cost, quality and timelines align with contracts and client expectations.
  • Oversee and liaise with site resources, subcontractors, suppliers, service authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Financial accountability including budgeting, costings and cascading KPI's

The successful applicant will have relevant tertiary qualifications in business and/or equivalent, with at least 5 years experience in a similar senior management role, within the residential building/construction sector. You should have strong negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills. Your sound commercial acumen and ability to build and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships will stand you in good stead.

We need a person with proven success in developing and maintaining strategic plans to maximise site efficiency and utilisation, driving productivity and implementing change. Also important is your previous leadership experience, inspiring and guiding teams, delivering large scale residential projects to budget and timeline.
