Assistant Production Manager (Senior Production Supervisor)
Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Adelaide, SA
Salary: $90,000 – $95,000 + Super
Roster: Day Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30PM
Reporting To: Production Manager
The Opportunity
We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Production Manager to support daily operations in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment in Adelaide's Inner North-West—just 10 minutes from the CBD.
You'll lead a team of 30+ staff, ensuring on-time production (DIFOT), labour efficiency, and safety compliance. This is a stepping stone into higher leadership, working closely with the Production Manager to drive continuous improvement and operational success.

Your Role & Responsibilities
- Lead & Develop Your Team – Manage recruitment, training, and performance reviews to build a skilled, engaged workforce.
- Drive Operational Excellence – Oversee daily production, optimise workflow, and ensure targets are met using Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
- Ensure Safety & Compliance – Maintain WHS policies, high safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
- Customer & KPI Focused – Manage DIFOT, downtime reduction, and performance tracking.
- Asset & Budget Management – Assist in budget planning and ensure efficient use of company assets.
Experience: At least 18 months–2 years leading teams of 30+ staff in a manufacturing or production environment.
Leadership & People Skills: Strong ability to coach, mentor, and drive team performance.
Process Improvement Focus: Exposure to Lean, 5S, or HACCP principles is highly regarded.
Proactive Work Style: Hands-on, problem-solving, and results-driven.
