Organization Setting and Reporting



This opportunity is within the team of Strategic Planning and Interagency Affairs at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna, Austria.

The selected candidate will collaborate directly with the Chief and/or Officer-in-Charge of the Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in various tasks including program development, evaluation, and analysis; support interagency initiatives; enhance UNODC's relationships with stakeholders at different levels; contribute to the organization's strategic framework; prepare written materials; organize and support meetings and events; handle budget-related tasks; analyze data for decision-making purposes; and undertake other related duties as needed.

Education

Requires an advanced university degree in political science, international relations, development management, or a related field; a first-level university degree with additional relevant experience may also be considered.


Work Experience

At least five years of experience in project or program management, interagency affairs, and international relations addressing crime, drugs, corruption, and terrorism; experience in partnership management and international program development is necessary; familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning systems is advantageous.


Languages

Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French or another UN official language is beneficial.

Evaluation may include assessments and interviews.


Special Notice

This position is temporary until December 31, 2024; candidates from the UN Secretariat are considered for temporary assignments; retirees reaching separation age during the temporary period are ineligible to apply.
