With this ERC funded project we pursue an engineering-inspired "build it to understand it" approach to fusion driven paediatric sarcomas, using human pluripotent stem cells, CRISPR and single cell technologies and computational biology.

This project seeks to accelerate drug discovery and molecular precision medicine for these difficult to treat cancers.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will lead an ambitious research project in an exciting, multidisciplinary research area
  • You will provide thorough and creative thinking that makes this project a success
  • You will supervise and support junior members of our team

Your profile:

What you bring for this position:

  • Excellent technical skills in molecular biology; experience working with pluripotent stem cells and/or CRISPR and single cell technologies is a plus
  • High accuracy, organizational skills, reliability, precision under time pressure, and good team player
  • Motivation and commitment to pursue an ambitious research agenda, eager to learn, proactive scientific mindset, creativity, gettingthingsdone attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German not required)
  • At least one first author paper in a peer reviewed journal
