This internship position is located under the Office of Communication, Speeches and theInnovation Lab (ODG/CSI) effectively promotes and strategically positions the Organization andthe interventions of the Director General in the global development context.

ODG/CSI ensures acoherent and structured approach to communication, covering the engagement of UNIDO intechnical cooperation and other activities in sustainable industrial development.

This includesthe creation, development, implementation and management of communications initiativesdesigned to ensure consistent messaging and branding of UNIDO vis-à-vis its mandate.

TheOffice develops and implements UNIDO's global communication strategy, working and engagingwith relevant media partners, stakeholders and communication platforms.

It also creates andmanages an innovation space to support organizational development and transformation ofUNIDO's technical cooperation as a new interface for external partners.

As part of its strategy,ODG/CSI is responsible for the external positioning of UNIDO as a technology enabled,innovative and modern agency of the UN System.


The Office of Communication, Speeches and the Innovation Lab (ODG/CSI) effectively promotesand strategically positions the Organization and the interventions of the Director General in theglobal development context.

ODG/CSI ensures a coherent and structured approach tocommunication, covering the engagement of UNIDO in technical cooperation and other activities in sustainable industrial development.

This includes the creation, development, implementationand management of communications initiatives designed to ensure consistent messaging andbranding of UNIDO vis-à-vis its mandate.

The Office develops and implements UNIDO's globalcommunication strategy, working and engaging with relevant media partners, stakeholders andcommunication platforms.

It also creates and manages an innovation space to supportorganizational development and transformation of UNIDO's technical cooperation as a newinterface for external partners.

As part of its strategy, ODG/CSI is responsible for the externalpositioning of UNIDO as a technology enabled, innovative and modern agency of the UN System.

The Intern shall work under the supervision of theChief of ODG/CSI

The duration of an internship at UNIDO is six months, is unpaid and full-time. Internswork under the supervision of a staff member, in the department or office that theyare assigned to.

Interns shall cover all costs associated with their internship,including visas, travel to and from the duty station, insurance, transportation,accommodation, and living expenses.


GENERIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Intern shall be engaged as follows:
a.

Exposed to the regular core functions of the ODG/CSI and as such shall have theopportunity to observe the day-to-day operations and engage in on-the-job training inspecific actions delegated by the Supervisor.

b.

Engaged in a specific self-contained assignment described below:
Organize photos and multimedia files using the systematic approach defined by ODG/CSI;

Design innovative multimedia products including templates, text, graphics, animations,infographics and video/photos for effective, high-impact storytelling across UNIDO ́scorporate channels, to inform and engage external audiences.

Adapt and format digital content such as graphic design, image files and videos, ensuringa coherent, consistent and effective visualization of the communication products of theOrganization in compliance with corporate guidelines;
Assist in photography and videography of events and other occasions as needed.
Any other communication-related tasks as assigned by the supervisors.
c. Prepare an end-of-internship report; to be submitted to and cleared by UNIDO InternshipCoordination.
d. Participate in other Special emerging Projects (if available) that may enhance the learningexperience of the Intern.

MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Age:
Minimum 20 years on the first day of the internship.

Education:

Enrolled in a university degree programme; or begin the internship within one yearof completing a university degree; or completed a university degree and be sponsored as part ofan academic or development programme.


Field of specialization:
Preferably in digital communications, communication studies,journalism and communications, international relations or related fields.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another officialUnited Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Other skills:
Photography, Videography, use of digital tools, problem solving, solutionsorientated, results-based management, good and effective writing s and interpersonal skills.
