This position is located in the Co-Financing and Partnership Section (CPS), Public Affairs and Policy Support Branch (PAB), Division for Policy Analysis and Public Affairs (DPA), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Responsibilities


The incumbent will be responsible for contributing to and supporting the planning and implementation of resource mobilization activities in support of the UNODC objectives and related technical cooperation activities.

Within assigned authority the incumbent will perform the following specific duties: 1.

Provide policy support in the elaboration, structuring and implementation of fund-raising activities: (a) Identify potential sources of funding throughout the range of national/international and governmental/non-governmental organizations; maintain contacts with donors to promote support of UNODC activities; draw assessment of donors' interest and make recommendations for exploring new avenues of fund-raising.

(b) Develop funding agreements and arrangements; ensure consultations, input, and follow-up between all parties to agreements; discuss and resolve administrative requirements; ensure dissemination of substantive reports and information required to meet donors' needs.

(c) Contribute to the preparations for the Executive Director's and relevant senior management travels' to donor countries and organizations. (d) Attend, as required, meetings and make presentations on the activities of the Programme. 2.

Contribute to the maintenance of the established system of data and reports on contributions, unspent balances, their earmarking and the management of other pertinent information; ensure the timely provision of reports on fund-utilization; maintain a system of up-to-date funding-related information; liaise with other concerned offices and work units and provide and obtain pertinent information.

Oversee the overall sound management of the data platforms associated with the agreements registry and database and the pledge related transparency portal including the updating of the contents.

4.

Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and report using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.

5. Perform other work-related duties as required.

Education


Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political or social sciences, law, business administration, marketing (including social marketing), or related fields is required.

A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience


A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in technical cooperation and public relations fields, with emphasis on fundraising and partnerships, is required.

Experience developing and managing fund-raising IT platforms and tools and web-based resource mobilization, reporting/monitoring tools is required. Experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications (such as SAP) is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise and a competency-based interview.

Special Notice

This position is financed from extra-budgetary resources.

Filling of this position is subject to funding availability and the initial appointment will be for a period of one year.

Extension of the appointment is subject to extension of the mandate and/or the availability of the funds. Staff members are subject to the authority of the Secretary-General and to assignment by him or her.

In this context, all staff are expected to move periodically to new functions in their careers in accordance with established rules and procedures.
