Your future responsibilities:

  • Research into spectroscopic and other optical sensing systems conventional systems and possibly specific topics including
- non-linear and ultrafast spectroscopies
- quantum sensing schemes based on wide-bandgap semiconductor point defects
- photonic (micro)structures for integrated photonic sensing

  • Data acquisition, analysis and interpretation
  • Optics / optomechanics / optoelectronic design and implementation
  • Contribution to project acquisition and writing of funding proposals.
- optional: Project management

  • Supervision of master students
  • Scientific publication of achievements in journals and at conferences

Your profile:

  • Good understanding of spectroscopy and photonic principles
  • Previous experience with practical implementation of spectroscopic systems (e.g. detectors/detector electronics, light sources, data acquisition and control, materials for optics, optics coatings, optomechanics design, dataanalysis)
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields is a plus:
  • Solid-state/semiconductor physics
  • Nonlinear optics and timeresolved spectroscopies
  • UV/VIS/NIR/IR/Raman Spectroscopy
  • Sensor data analysis with (Python, Matlab)
  • Machine Vision
  • Quantum sensing / quantumoptics
  • Fiber Optics
  • Innovative, autonomous and wellorganised
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English, preferably conversational or better language competence in German

EUR 3.177, paid 14 times a year.
