Head of Direct Procurement

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Direct Material procurement strategy and managing the day-to-day functioning of INNIO Jenbacher's Direct Material Sourcing team, with a spend of approximately €400M.

You will be responsible for driving total cost reduction in that spend while effectively managing the supplier portfolio to reduce risk and increase value to the company.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute a Procurement strategy that delivers on established financial targets, in particular Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings & payment terms, as well as other KPIs for the Supply Base, such as quality, delivery / resilience and sustainability
  • Coordinate with all INNIO functions to obtain the best outcomes for the company
  • Ensure that Procurement roadmap builds the capabilities needed for longterm growth, in particular execute the Value Creation Program for Direct Material & Product Cost-Out
  • Lead & develop a highperforming and motivated strategic procurement team (~10 Global Category Leaders) responsible for interfacing with business and supplier partners
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment and coordination via clearly articulated governance processes including definition of roles and responsibilities, decision rights and communication and coordination mechanisms
  • Ensure our direct material suppliers are aligned with our cost reduction approach and held accountable for their performance on all fronts (cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, innovation)
  • Sign longterm supply agreements which protect INNIO from market & supplier risks
  • Review opportunities within INNIO to increase supply chain resilience
  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor or Master/MBA degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited college / university or
    related progressive educational experience
  • Very good experience in roles with increasing responsibilities in global sourcing / supply chain / category leadership or related work experience, preferably in a lowvolume/highmix industry
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, as required internationally and nationally
  • Experience in leading teams to execute and manage multiple projects with high levels of complexity
  • Very strong financial skills and business acumen
  • Very structured, high saydo ratio bias for action
  • Fluency in English is a must, German is a strong advantage


The base pay is composed of the amount according to the Austrian collective agreement which is at least EUR 5.052,75 gross per month (x 14) and an over payment depending on your qualifications and experience.
