Capability Development Lead

AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-focused biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious diseases.
The Capability Development Manager is responsible for managing and developing training primarily for customer facing functions such as Sales, Marketing and to do so in a way that supports key business priorities.
This role will be responsible for developing, customizing, implementing and following up the effectiveness of the commercial plan (from training needs identification and action planning to assessing outcomes) by partnering closely with key internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Plan
- Design & develop the commercial training strategy in alignment with the business strategy, and leverage data driven insights to design learning solutions and learner journeys, meeting capability needs of the business.
- Evaluate individual and organizational development needs in cooperation with HR
- Align and plan cross BU Training approaches (from needs assessment until execution)
- Responsible for setting up an annual commercial and customer facing training plan (for sales, marketing) in line with budget
- Managing across the BUs in call related processes/activities e
g:
call excellence, coaching forms, execution excellence
- Manage external vendors in accordance with budget and streamlining to preferred suppliers as needed, in cooperation with HR
- Create and deliver onboarding plans for key functions (sales, marketing)
- Deliver trainings (in alignment with external parties if needed)
- Oversee updates to internal learning platforms such as Acto, Degreed
- Develop Training Metrics to measure the effectiveness of delivery, content
- Measure progress of overall training strategy
- Act as a single point of contact for Global Commercial development and medical Excellence initiatives and the global training community
- Gather best practices from WESE and global to upgrade local training approach
Essential
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, coach, and develop people
- Successful track record in a customer facing role and/or commercial role
- Demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills
- Good organization & planning skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills while demonstrating emotional intelligence
- Ability to think strategically and translate business needs to training solutions
- Experience working in a highly matrixed organization, maintaining alignment between business units or functions.
- Working knowledge of tools to promote digital Learning like (Learning Management System, Zoom/Virtual training)
- Proficiency in English and German
Desirable
- Experience in the learning & development field
- Experience in Sales training
- Previous exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business such as Sales or Marketing
- Pharmaceutical, medical device industry experience preferred.
