Investment Analyst

Description

IFC, part of the World Bank Group, focuses on the private sector in emerging markets across over 100 countries. In the 2023 fiscal year, IFC dedicated a remarkable US$43.7 billion to private companies and financial institutions in developing nations, aiming to use the power of the private sector to combat extreme poverty and enhance shared prosperity amidst global challenges. Special Operations (CSO) within IFC involves a team of seasoned investment and restructuring experts working on distressed investment portfolios. Analysts in CSO play a significant role in project teams, gaining vast exposure to various aspects of work. The position, based in Vienna, covers regions including Southern and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, and North Africa, offering a unique international work environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze intricate financial models.
  • Conduct company financial analysis focusing on credit assessment.
  • Create necessary documentation for internal processes such as memoranda, reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with different departments and clients for project-related tasks.
  • Carry out industry and market research.
  • Participate in investment recovery and restructuring negotiations.
  • Maintain knowledge management platforms by ensuring project information is accurate and updated.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a financial institution, consultancy firm, or related field.
  • Understanding of corporate/project finance and financial modeling, with restructuring experience considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, especially in analyzing financial statements and complex models.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and accountable for actions.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic, French, or Russian is beneficial.
