Description
The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements programs on food, agriculture, human health, water resources, environment, and radiation technologies with the goal of supporting Member States. The Division of Human Health works towards enhancing capabilities related to health problems using nuclear techniques.

Main Purpose:
As a team leader in the Division of Human Health, the Section Head plays a key role in managing IAEA projects in radiation oncology and cancer treatment ensuring efficient resource management.

Role:
- Leads a team of staff members
- Advises the Director on programmatic issues
- Coordinates technical support to research programs
- Facilitates cooperation within the Agency and with external organizations

Functions / Key Results Expected:
- Plan, develop, and implement radiation oncology and cancer treatment programs
- Provide technical guidance to Member States
- Coordinate research projects and technical cooperation
- Manage technical inputs to programs
- Organize scientific meetings and represent the IAEA at international events

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills:
- Advanced degree in Medicine with specialization in radiation oncology
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the field
- Experience in leadership, team building, and project management
- Affinity with clinical radiobiology and medical oncology
- Strong scientific background with international publications
- Proficiency in English, knowledge of other IAEA languages is a plus
