Taking on the role of a Trapped-Ion Development Engineer, you'll join a passionate, international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality. Working closely with top-tier customers and academic partners, you’ll lead the industrialization of trapped-ion quantum processors. Your new responsibilities include driving the development of cutting-edge ion trap chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units (QPUs).
In your new job you will:
- Drive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processors, with focus on photonic interfaces
- Co-develop the next generations of QPUs with our commercial partners
- Enable the research community through projects with academic partners
- Supervise master and PhD students
You are a proactive individual with a passion for new technologies, and are eager to join us on our quest to create a more sustainable future for everyone. You further define yourself through clear communication, and team player qualities.
To thrive on your quantum adventure, you should:
- Be a highly motivated individual who wants quantum computing to become a reality
- Have a PhD in physics, quantum engineering, photonics, computational physics or similar
- Bring 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and/or (trapped-ion) quantum computing
- Be fluent in English, German skills or the willingness to learn is a plus
