About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Sydney office for aLegal Office Assistant to join our General Insurance team. The teamwork across a variety of matters encompassing professionalindemnity, public liability, personal injury and more. Our clientsinclude some of the biggest names in insurance both locally andinternationally, and our Lawyers strive to provide exceptionalcustomer service and legal advice to them. As a Legal OfficeAssistant, you will play an integral part in supporting our Lawyersas they progress each matter from receiving instructions, throughto settlement or trial. Whilst you will primarily support a SpecialCounsel and a Senior Associate, your ability to be a true teamplayer will be valued as you step in to assist the wider team ofLawyers and Secretaries.

You will have a varied workload, and some of your day-to-dayresponsibilities will include:

  • e-Filing and sending electronic correspondence
  • Collating briefs to Counsel and letters of instruction
  • Accounts processing and billing
  • Data and file management
  • Court filing
  • Liaising with various external stakeholders, includingmedico-legal groups, Courts, barristers and other lawfirms
  • Drafting of some correspondence and Court documents

About you

This position is an entry-level, casual role (2-3 days perweek), and would be suited to a law student in their first orsecond year of study. Prior experience in a law firm is notrequired. If you're looking to start your career with a nationallyrecognised law firm, and gain exposure to a broad range oflitigated insurance matters, this could be the perfect first stepin your journey.
