About this Role

As Workshop Manager, you will play an integral role within our Business. 

You will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for: 

  • Coordination and management of all aspects of workshop operations
  • Driving Workshop profitability & accountability through accurate budget & forecasting.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) of all work throughout the workshop
  • Optimising day-to-day activities with pro-active planning and urgency
  • Maintain efficient workflow practices to meet production deadlines 
  • Proactively pursuing continuous improvement projects for efficiency and cost gains
  • Lead a team of trades, apprentices and TA’s ensuring appropriate upskilling to meet the needs of the growing role and business
  • Management of safety, personnel, throughput of work and cost control within the workshop
  • Co-Ordinate the selection recruitment & onboarding of workshop staff. 
  • Reporting to the executive team, as per workshop manager requirements
  • Manage the performance of employees, including performance appraisals and complete disciple of staff when required. 

About you

  • Previous experience as a Workshop Manager
  • Self-motivated individual, with a results driven approach.
  • Demonstrated capability in forecasting, planning & production optimisation.
  • Strong Leadership skills 
  • Trade qualified in fabrication and/or mechanical
  • Natural problem solver who can identify issues and address efficiently. 
  • Lead & Coach a team and provide critical feedback to your team to continue to learn and grow 
  • To possess or working towards G1, G2, G8 in Frontline Management
  • Demonstrate a professional and outcome focus
  • Want to be part of a culture of learning and continuous improvement
  • Be dedicated and reliable
  • Demonstrate the ability to build strong rapport and relationships with all stakeholders
  • Be dedicated to ensuring high standards of safety compliance and customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Complete pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing
