About the role

The Maintenance Manager role is a key position in the SeaLink NT leadership team, responsible for maintaining the vessels and company assets to the highest standard to ensure a safe and efficient operation.

The position leads, plans and prioritises to effectively:

  • Maintain vessel maintenance schedules, troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify engineering issues throughout the fleet.
  • Ensure ferries and equipment comply with all legislation and standards
  • Manage costs in line with budget
  • Provide guidance and training to the onboard Marine crew

A key outcome of this role is to ensure we continue to offer reliable on-time running aboard the highest quality vessels, to our customers.

About You

As this is a key leadership position, you will be self motivated and results driven, and have a high level of interpersonal skills, business sense, fleet maintenance experience and project management capabilities to ensure success.

  • Logistical mind

These key requirements will be complimented by experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Maintenance planning and budgeting experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with marine vessel machinery, especially marine diesel engines.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Hydraulics, Electrical, and air conditioning systems highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Marine Engineer Driver 1 or above
  • Senior First Aid/Advanced Resuscitation
