Located in ourSydney office, our Engineering team are looking for a Head of Data Analytics to join the team on a permanent, full time basis. OurEngineering team consists of Engineers, MarTech Engineers, Testers, Experience Designers and Delivery who are responsible for the successful execution and delivery of our clients’ projects.

What’s My Job?

You are the Head of Data Analytics in the DX Team.

As the Head of Data Analytics at Howatson+Company, your primary responsibility is to utilise advanced analytics and statistical methods to derive actionable insights from data sets to drive informed decision-making for our client projects and internal products. You will design and utilise statistical principles and methods to gather, organise, and interpret numerical data, and employs statistical techniques to generate reports.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of data analytics, including media tagging and analytics integrations, auditing client tech stacks, developing data visualizations and dashboards, managing attribution streams, and supporting special data projects. Additionally, you will be instrumental in mentoring the team and fostering a data-driven culture within our organisation.

What Are My Responsibilities?

Strategy Development and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Data & Technology Officer (CDTO), Chief Media Officer (CMO), the engineering and media team to develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports creative tech projects, media analytics, digital analytics, and bespoke client engineering requirements.
  • Act as a key advisor on data strategy, contributing insights and recommendations that align with the company's goals and client needs.
  • Act as the data champion within the agency, creating a data-first culture.
  • Apply numerical analysis methods to develop algorithms and perform computations.
  • Solving complex business problems that help our clients businesses perform.

Data Governance and Security:

  • Auditing of client tech stack, understanding current state and defining future roadmap. On topics such as Cookieless; ID Sync; Data Ramp onboarding; Privacy Law changes, etc.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and practices, including data privacy laws and regulations. Experience in implementing data security and compliance measures.

Media tagging and analytics integrations set up.

  • Lead the setup and optimization of media tagging and analytics integrations to ensure accurate tracking and measurement of client campaigns.
  • Support for Data Tools Implementation: Provide support in data setups and extracting insights from tools such as MMM (Marketing Mix Modeling), ensuring maximum value for clients

Programming and Analysis:

  • Strong proficiency in Python and related libraries (e.g., Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib) for data analysis, processing, and visualization. Skill in additional languages (e.g., R, SQL) is beneficial.
