About the Role
As the Head of IT, you will lead our company's technology platform capability. Your responsibilities include identifying, implementing, and maintaining applications and technologies to deliver fit for purpose solutions and positive user experiences. You will guide the technology direction, oversee strategic projects, support product development, ensure the appropriate controls are in place to ensure security of Roy Morgan's information assets and manage teams responsible for development, infrastructure and support.
In this role you will:
- Be a technical thought leader and guide and direct Roy Morgan's technology and application architecture and supporting technologies.
- Oversee Infrastructure, Technical Support and Software Development streams across Roy Morgan.
- Ensure technology and service capabilities support the company's strategic objectives and the needs of its customers, staff and partners.
- Liaise with staff and customers in the delivery of new system capabilities and the maintenance of existing IT systems that service Roy Morgan's research and reporting solutions.
- Provide insight, advice and direction to the Executive Team on all information and communication technology related matters and well as prepare and provide regularly reporting and manage IT budgets.
- Design and lead projects as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development and installation of technology.
- As a member of the Information Security Management Committee, provide an IT perspective on Roy Morgan's Data and System Security functions, Quality Assurance procedures and Government regulations and standard requirements.
- Ensure data integrity and security and ensure all issues are reported within relevant timeframes to the Executive and Chief Executive.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organisation remains ahead of its competitors and is able to deliver data to its clients in 'real time'.
- Lead the IT Department including providing leadership, direction and day-to-day management of the Information Technology team.
Requirements for Success
- Be a technical thought leader to guide and direct Roy Morgan's technology and application architecture and supporting technologies.
- A strategic thinker (and able to strategic guidance on technologies and approaches) with the proven ability to pivot to hands-on across all aspects of IT.
- Experience in digital transformation, Data Warehousing, and DevOps practices and technologies.
- Proven track record in the leading the end-to-end corporate ICT environment in medium sized organisations with a hands-on approach with practical working knowledge across all aspects of IT, and ideally relevant knowledge of technologies within the Market Research industry.
- Proven ability to assess technological opportunities and risks and provide strategic guidance on technologies and approaches and set the direction that is appropriate for the organisation.
- A leader with excellent people management skills, strong leadership skills and business.
- Significant knowledge of, and experience in, assessing cloud versus on-premises solutions and implementing to best meet the requirements and risk profile of the organisation.
- Experience managing a wide range of stakeholder relationships and partnering with vendors to create collaborative and positive working relationships.
- Demonstrated experience successfully negotiating and managing vendor agreements.
- Well-developed ability to analyse and interpret complex data and systems.
- Degree qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline coupled with an MBA or relevant Post Graduate Studies (required)
