Job Description
Your New Role
Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Approvals, the purpose of this role is to manage the planning and delivery of strategic and environmental and planning approvals to support the delivery of the Life of Mine Plans for operational and development sites for the business. Your responsibilities will involve managing on regulatory issues, encompassing policy and regulatory solutions, as well as staying informed about emerging regulatory regimes in related industries. You will collaborate with other teams of the business to implement a cohesive approach with respect to approvals. Additionally, you will manage stakeholder relationships from both within Stanmore (sites, development and mine planning teams) and all levels of government. To be successful, we expect you will have:
- Significant (10+ years) experience in similar roles within the mining industry.
- Thorough understanding of approvals legislation relevant to the mining sector in Queensland.
- Experience managing consultants, including schedules and budgets.
- A commitment to safety and continuous improvement, including process improvement.
- Understanding of value drivers in coal mining operations.
- Autonomous work ethic and be able to manage workflows effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or equivalent.
- Current, or the ability to obtain, a standard 11 qualification and pass a coal board medical to access mine sites
