About the Position
The South Australian Audit of Surgical Mortality (SAASM) is a publicly funded program that provides for the independent review of all deaths associated with surgical care. The results of this review process are shared confidentially with surgeons with the aim of improving surgical outcomes for patients. SAASM is funded by the Department for Health and Wellbeing and is managed by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
The role of Clinical Director involves providing clinical perspective and surgical oversight of the SAASM review process. In addition, the SAASM Clinical Director is required to Chair the SAASM Management Committee and represent SAASM on the Australian and New Zealand Audit of Surgical Mortality (ANZASM) Committee.
The ability to maintain constructive relationships with surgeons and hospital governance staff will be essential. A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, with excellent organisational and time management skills are also required, as are superior verbal, and written communication skills. The role requires working in a team of administration and research staff. The ability to review data analytics and statistical processes for the interpretation and communication of meaningful outcomes are also required.
The position is offered at 0.2 FTE. Remuneration will be at the appropriate senior specialist level.
