Database Development & Administration (Information & Communication Technology)

Angle Auto Finance is an independent financier in Australia, bringing a modern platform and a flexible business approach to help more Australians with their car purchase.

Reporting into the Cloud & Networking Lead, the purpose of this role is to:

  • Ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our organisation's SQL & Cosmos databases
  • Work closely with other members of the IT team to optimise database functions and support application development.
  • Define and evolve frameworks which improve upon the quality of queries deployed to production.
  • Optimise and manage cloud database related costs.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities;

  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL database systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues and tune for optimal efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain database security protocols and access controls.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Tune database configurations and indexes to improve query performance and response times.
  • Manage reporting databases and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
  • Utilise PowerBI to create insightful and actionable reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent
  • Azure Cloud certifications preferred.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and/or certification in SQL Server administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator or similar role
  • Knowledge of SQL Server tools including SSIS
  • Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and optimisation
