Currently working with a global leader in financial services that are building out their digital platform. We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join their team and drive the delivery of cutting-edge data platform projects.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust data platforms. This role requires a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the data engineering space who has experience delivering various data platform projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure their data infrastructure is scalable, efficient, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines and platforms.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Optimise and maintain data infrastructure for performance and reliability.
- Develop and implement data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices and technical skills.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our data solutions are state-of-the-art.
- Proven experience as a Lead Data Engineer or in a similar senior engineering role.
- Expertise in Scala, Spark, Python and SQL.
- Extensive experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
