Head of Operations and Supply Chain

The core purpose of this role is to lead and enhance the management of the company's operations and supply chain functions. This entails spearheading initiatives that align these functions with the overarching business strategy, fostering integration and coherence across various departments. The role demands a strategic approach to streamline operational processes, aimed at boosting efficiency and reducing costs, while concurrently upholding the superior quality of products and services our customers expect.
This position holds ultimate responsibility for all operational and supply chain activities within the company, including the management of operational projects from inception through to successful implementation. This role will be critical in shaping and executing the business’s strategic plan, ensuring operational strategies are innovative, sustainable, and effectively contribute to long-term business objectives. Through visionary leadership and meticulous oversight, this role ensures that the company not only meets but exceeds the benchmarks for operational excellence and strategic growth.

About the Role:
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic Planning, Oversight and Management
- Building the Business strategy with the CALIBRE executive team.
- Breaking down the overall business strategy into an executable plan with timelines (short term, medium term, long term), resource requirements and key milestones for reporting
- Ensure that all departments are working to common timeline and plan.
- Oversee the Planning, Buying, Production, and Finance teams to optimise processes.
- Work with the General Manager and Financial Controller to establish key financial measures for any new business initiatives or strategic endeavours.
Operational and Supply Chain Management Functions
- Full ownership of Calibre Critical Path.
- Implement communication strategies within the business to ensure the consistent and effective information flow.
- Lead Supplier Management and Negotiations.
- Lead the development of the buying strategy - ensuring the purpose of stock purchased is clearly defined and effectively managed within the organisation.
- Drive and grow supplier engagement to ensure best outcomes for the organisation.
- Drive supply chain to provide lead times that support the commercial requirements of the organisation.
- Oversee buying decisions ensuring they are in line with strategy.

Your deep understanding of product development life cycles within a design-focused organization enhances your ability to streamline processes from concept to delivery.
You are adept at building strong relationships both within teams and with external stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional negotiation and conflict management skills. Your interpersonal and team-building expertise are complemented by your critical problem-solving capabilities and your proficiency in resource allocation. With a keen ability to forecast and predict market trends, you optimize investments effectively.
