The Exciting Role:

Reporting in the General Manager of Supply Chain, the Head of Planning plays a pivotal role in influencing Demand and Supply Planning activities for all Manufacturing sites, third party manufacturing and third-party product suppliers, local and imported. Within the role, you will assess the existing demand and supply processes to delivery of best practice and ongoing improvement within the supply chain to ensure the highest customer service levels whilst reducing waste.

  • Oversee supply chain planning and inventory systems and process improvements
  • Strategy and leadership of the engagement and management process with key partners, in particular the Sales, Operations, 3rd party manufacturing and distributors, and Key account customers
  • Develop and action Master Production Schedules (MPS) for owned manufacturing plants and that of 3rd party manufacturers
  • Assume responsibility for all operational aspects of MNA Planning and effective optimisation of the Supply Chain footprint
  • Collaborate with Supply Planner and Demand Planners, and Supply Chain Development to ensure that any changes to network and inventory targets are reflected in the planning projections
  • Monitor the weekly inventory reports and manage all inventory projection exceptions through the Supply Planners and the Demand Planners
  • To leverage MNA’s growth to optimise the supply chain performance
  • Engaging multiple stakeholders in a cross functional way and to ensure that all stakeholders are engaged and regularly updated to support the MNA and Operations executional plan
  • Prepare, gain approval and implement annual operating budgets and plans to meet strategic and business plans
  • Continue to review “best practice” in the marketplace in the areas of supply chain management so as to improve operating footprint
  • Provide coaching to direct reports with consistent and frequent feedback to engage and motivate

To Succeed With Us:

  • FMCG supply chain management and procurement experience
  • Degree qualified in Commerce, Logistics, Science or Engineering
  • A high level understanding of supply chain management processes and best practice
  • Previous exposure in managing a major organisation’s supply chain function with exposure to all aspects including procurement, planning/capacity management and production and warehouse & distribution activities
  • Significant experience in the development of supply chain strategies. In addition, experiences which point to a successful track record in the delivery of these strategies
  • Experience in the delivery of significant cost savings or process improvements related to the management of a supply chain function
  • Key driver of a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Experience in the use of appropriate ERP system
  • Be prepared to travel domestically
  • A strong general and commercial acumen with an emphasis on strategy development and implementation
  • Strong communication and influencing skills. In particular, the ability to advocate change and influence internal opinion
  • Highly numerate with the ability to understand data and to interpret it in a lateral manner
  • Diplomacy and tact in order to gain support at all levels in the business coupled with confidence, intelligence and business acumen skills to influence abilities and outcomes
  • Detail orientated with the ability to assess all options while at the same time having the thought processes to think laterally
