Warehousing, Storage & Distribution (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
Suprima Bakeries, a leading manufacturing plant, is seeking an Assistant Logistics Manager to oversee warehouse/freezer operations. This role involves managing inventory control, materials handling, customer service, transportation of goods, and team welfare and performance. The ideal candidate will maintain and improve systems and processes to ensure efficient stock movement and operational excellence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contribute to strategic plans and reviews, implementing standards for production, productivity, quality, and customer service.
• Ensure accurate inventory movement and control.
• Investigate and reconcile inventory variances.
• Efficiently manage customer complaints and quality non-compliance incidents.
• Manage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory processes to meet customer requirements.
• Track and improve freight costs.
• Coordinate export schedules with shipping agents and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for specific customers.
• Administer day-to-day warehouse operations.
Key Performance Indicators:
• Percentage of orders with correct documentation.
• Improved Delivery In Full On Time (DIFOT) to clients.
• High levels of inventory accuracy.
• Timely investigation and closure of department-related reports.
• Maintain control over freight costs.
• Accuracy of invoices for 3PL customers.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Experience in logistics and warehousing.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, and safety management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Highly organized with exceptional planning skills.
• Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Strong team player.
• Computer-savvy with knowledge of WMS and ASRS.
