The purpose of the Director (Registration and Licensing Systems) is to provide leadership and maintain strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to provide a holistic and coordinated approach to product management of the registration and licensing systems in accordance with strategic priorities and business objectives.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads' (TMR) vision is to create a single integrated transport system accessible to everyone. TMR, as part of the wider Queensland Government, contributes to communities across the state by improving economic wellbeing, quality of life, safety, and accessibility. Reporting to the Executive Director Business within the Information Technology Branch (ITB), this role is responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of TMR's suite of systems and applications regarding registration and licensing. With a team of approximately 20 FTEs and additional service providers, and a budgetary responsibility of $7 million operating budget, you will guide a technical team to meet business requirements. You will utilise your business acumen and stakeholder engagement skills to foster collaboration and synergy with internal customers, translating business needs into technical objectives for your team. You will establish robust product lifecycle and change management frameworks to foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that business needs are met now and into the future.

Key to your success in this role will be your expert stakeholder engagement skills and your ability to translate business requirements to technical strategy. You will be an empowering leader with the ability to guide continuous improvement and change from technical staff. You will combine exceptional business acumen with a good understanding of technology and how to integrate a technical strategy to broader organisational goals. You will also have expertise in product, project, and change management, with a focus on delivering innovative and flexible solutions for internal customers.
