Federation is one of the highest-grade base metals development projects in Australia The Federation deposit hosts high-grade zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation and is located in 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee. – this is a new mine site opening not to be missed

The Role

We are on the lookout for a skilled Mine Engineer to join our team at the Federation mine site. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the extraction of the mine resource by developing safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations. This will involve crafting detailed mine designs and schedules, drawing on your expertise and collaborative efforts with the Technical Services and Operations teams.

Flexible and Convenient Work Schedule:

We understand the importance of balancing professional commitments with personal life. Our 8 days on, 6 days off roster pattern allows for this balance, with direct FIFO arrangements from Brisbane and Sydney to Cobar. For those in Melbourne, travel includes a convenient connection via Sydney, providing easy access to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold and champion health and safety practices for yourself and your colleagues.
• Design and implement effective and secure mining plans, including various operational aspects like Stope Notes, Backfill Plans, and Bogging Plans.
• Offer mentorship within the technical services team, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
• Support the Mining Manager and Mining Dept. in ensuring statutory compliance to Mines Regulations in New South Wales
• Complete hazard reviews, incident investigations and be involved in risk assessments for daily activities and project work
• Develop and assess short-term and medium-term mining schedules.
• Tackle a diverse range of mining challenges, including mine design and ventilation strategies.

About You

We are seeking a passionate and innovative individual ready to contribute significantly to our dynamic team and play a key role in Aurelia Metals' growth projects. You should bring a mix of enthusiasm, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to drive our initiatives forward.

• Alignment with Aurelia Metals' core values.
• Capable of obtaining a National Police Clearance for site access.
• Possess a current unencumbered ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Mining or equivalent.
• Relevant Mining Engineering experience within an underground mining environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialist Mining Software (Deswik CAD, Deswik UGDB, Deswik Sched).
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.

Aurelia Metals flagship asset is the high-grade Hera gold-lead-zinc-silver mine in central NSW.

In FY 2016, the Hera mine produced 46,882 ounces of gold and 25,406 tonnes of lead-zinc concentrates from the processing of 308,118 tonnes of ore.

The Company is pursuing significant further improvements in the Hera operation including improved metal recoveries, increased throughput and operating cost reductions. Aurelia is also pursuing a near mine exploration programme, with a strong view on the capacity for Hera to evolve into a large scale, high-grade ‘Cobar style’ deposit

Aurelia is also actively evaluating the evolving copper deposit at Nymagee with the potential that the Nymagee mineralisation may evolve into another ‘Cobar Giant’ similar to the world class CSA copper deposit located approximately 100km north-west along strike
