This role sits within UNSW Estate Management (EM) provides a range of services and advice to all Faculties and Divisions on all UNSW campuses. It does this by providing campus planning, infrastructure planning, development, construction, refurbishment, maintenance and environmental management. EM also provides a wide range of logistical and associated services to ensure a safe and secure campus environment.

Why Your Role Matters:
The Senior Change Manager will provide strategic Change Management support and advice across the Estate Management Portfolio and assist the strategic asset management planning for the university. The key focus of this role is to support the change approach to built environment projects across workplace, research and education spaces. The role will work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and external Change Consultants to ensure the change management approach is consistently applied across projects, providing expert support, guidance and training, if required.

The Senior Change Manager will manage portfolio level change related risks and escalate these as appropriate. The role will lead the development and implementation of the Estate Management Future campus project communication and change strategy more widely, and work with Business Partners to deliver project related communications to key stakeholders across the university.

The Senior Change Manager will report into the Senior Manager, Strategic Project Planning and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities Summary:

• Deliver an effective change management strategy tailored to physical space planning and projects by providing advice and maintaining the application of the Estate Management change management framework (based on the EPMO change management framework and industry best practices).
• Identifying and obtaining change resources and materials required for effective delivery of projects within Estate Management and acting as SME for procurement of external change consultants.
• Tracking and assuring delivery of key checkpoints within major projects, working alongside the Business Partners.
• Establishing metrics and key performance indicators to measure the success of change and support post implementation reviews of the effectiveness of changes and identify opportunities for improvement. 
• Supporting, coaching, advising and guiding the Business Partners in relation to application of a formal change approach to the delivery of major projects.
• Advise on Estate Management communications strategy and plans and work with the Business Partners and communications teams to deliver key project communications to key stakeholders.
• Identify, manage and report where necessary any change related risks and issues (people, operations, organisational) to the relevant Senior Manager so they can be captured and tracked on the Risk Register.
•  Provide advice and guidance to mitigate risks associated with proposed changes, considering potential ripple effects on project deliverable and objectives.
• Demonstrate a flexible and agile mindset with the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.

Skills and Experience Summary:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with extensive experience in delivering effective change management in large-scale projects, including changes to physical built environments, people, processes, technology and operations.
• Experience managing change at a program level and across multiple projects simultaneously 
• Experience designing and applying fit-for-purpose change approaches and deliverables
• Experience managing change for building related projects and implementing new ways of working is highly desirable
• Previous experience within the Higher Education sector, and/or interacting with academic staff (ideally in a change management capacity) would be highly advantageous
• Previous experience successfully delivering workspace change including hybrid/ agile/ activity based working environments
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing change management strategies and frameworks
• Effective self-leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and importantly, the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Knowledge and experience of working with a project management framework, including linking this with change management deliverables
