Practical Information:

Location: Sydney, Australia | Reports to: Chief Legal Officer | Team Size: 3 | Visa Requirements: Valid working visa for Australia | Language Requirements: Fluent/professional level English, written and spoken

We are looking for a new Legal Counsel to join our team in APAC, based in Sydney. In this role, your focus is to support the legal function across Crayon APAC, aligning with Crayon Group's objectives and goals, implementing the legal strategy, ensuring corporate governance, and providing legal advice.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Manage, review, draft, and negotiate contracts between Crayon and third parties
  • Manage and provide legal advice and support to achieve Crayon Group's legal strategy in APAC, including M&A activities
  • Cooperate with members of the legal team while liaising with external counsel where required
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement across legal processes and systems within Crayon, ensuring up-to-date awareness across legal, providing awareness/training for internal Crayon staff, and preventing/mitigating legal risk
  • Proactively provide strategic direction and guidance to senior stakeholders and management

Your Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law with at least 5 years’ experience across legal, compliance, risk, and governance
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills and an ability to priorities tasks
  • High-level stakeholder management skills
  • In-house experience is strongly preferred
