About the Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for a qualified Child and Family Health Nurse to join our small but fantastic team Applying a trauma informed lens, you will be caring for refugees and families seeking asylum in both home and clinic settings. You will be supported by a team of experienced senior clinicians and the NSW Refugee Health Service offers flexible work practices, clinical supervision, and a friendly workplace.

What You'll be Doing
The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

Deliver a quality child and family community health nursing service to recently arrived refugee families, build resilience and independence in families identified to be at high risk of poor health and settlement outcomes and connect and refer families to appropriate services.

How to Apply

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) & post graduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing (or working towards same with proof of enrolment) 
• Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality
• Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
• Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
• Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
• Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
• Commitment to social justice and issues of access and equity in health
• Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
