Our EnergyCo NSW Planning and Communities team is currently seeking to appoint 2 x Corporate Senior Acquisition Manager’s to serve as dedicated specialists overseeing EnergyCo’s Land and Property portfolio management and will be crucial for facilitating the effective execution of Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) programs, transmission infrastructure projects, and other key initiatives.

Leading a team, this role will be responsible for establishing policies, managing governance and assurance protocols, and overseeing all aspects of land acquisitions, access arrangements, divestments, and other property-related functions.

About You

In this role, you will be entrusted with leading EnergyCo's Land and Property portfolio management, crucial for the seamless execution of REZ programs, transmission infrastructure projects, and other key endeavours. Your responsibilities will encompass coordinating EnergyCo’s land management and property portfolio functions to facilitate the delivery of REZ, transmission, and priority infrastructure projects. This includes strategic oversight of overarching strategies and work programs related to land acquisition, access, and divestment, as well as developing and implementing policy and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and government standards.
The successful candidate will also provide expert advice on complex land acquisition matters, guide the development of systems and processes to support ongoing portfolio management, drive contract performance and relationship management with key stakeholders, and foster a customer-centric approach embedded with ethical standards and community sensitivity. Navigating challenges such as delivering mutually beneficial outcomes in a highly sensitive environment and coordinating portfolios against challenging delivery timeframes, you will leverage internal and external resources to foster a collaborative and socially sensitive team culture, ensuring successful outcomes amidst varying stakeholder interests and media scrutiny.

Previous experience in government acquisitions, with an excellent working knowledge of the Land Acquisition Just Terms Compensation Act 1991 and associated case law.

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or relevant equivalent experience

EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of more than 14 gigawatts of new transmission capacity, coordinated with renewable energy and storage, including in five new REZs and two priority transmission infrastructure projects to date.

We are responsible for the on-ground infrastructure needed to bring new renewable energy online at the scale and speed to meet our transformation objectives in the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 and NSW Network Infrastructure Strategy.

January 2024 EnergyCo NSW joined the newly formed Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water  (DCCEEW) which works to protect the state’s environment and heritage. It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.
