After some recent business changes, PointsBet Australia is about to head into a exciting stage of it's journey and as we continue to grow, we're looking for an Internal Auditor.
Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the Internal Auditor will help PointsBet achieve its strategic objectives by providing independent and objective assurance on governance, risk management and internal controls. Our ideal candidate will be well-versed in audit control frameworks and techniques, have excellent analytical and communication skills, and demonstrate an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with management and the Internal Audit team. This role is in a unique position to gain exposure to almost all aspects of PointsBet’s operations and to recommend enhancements that can make a tangible difference to our overall success.
What you’ll own:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating the audit risk areas of the company, focusing on both the Australian and Canadian operations, contributing to the development of the Internal Audit Plan
- Work autonomously and/or under the guidance of the Internal Audit Manager to deliver financial, operational, IT and regulatory audit/advisory projects and internal audit engagements
- Execute audit engagements and procedures, including: identifying and defining issues, developing criteria and creative auditing techniques, analysing evidence, assessing client processes, systems and procedures, conducting interviews, reviewing documents, composing summary memos, and preparing work papers
- Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations for improvement
- Assist in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via reports and presentations to executive and senior management
- Identify any potential regulatory gaps in existing systems and processes
The skills we seek:
- 2+ years of audit experience. Previous experience in public accounting or an industry-related internal auditing or regulatory role is a bonus, however not a requirement
- Degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Undertaking or completed relevant professional qualifications (CA, CPA, CIA, etc.)
- Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
- Sound understanding of auditing best practices and trends, internal auditing standards and internal control frameworks with the ability to apply practically
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen to the needs of business units and comprehend complex matters
- Results and goal oriented with ability to demonstrate excellent judgment and appropriate level of risk taking
- Relates and works cooperatively with people across levels, functions, culture, and geography to achieve shared goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
