Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 470 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.
AGIG is leading the way for the Australian renewable gas sector, and are committed to sustainable gas delivery today, and tomorrow. Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.
About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a professional and dynamic Manager Land Access and Approvals (LAA) within AGIG. This position is responsible for the acquisition of rights through statutory approval processes in relation to new energy projects in WA.
The Manager LAA will also assist with securing external regulatory and access approvals for infrastructure projects under the AGIG banner in a greenfield and brownfield environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- approval pathways (including optionality) in line with business and project priorities. Prepare approval strategies and schedules to allow for analysis of options
- project data, registers and information is collected and available to the business
- strategic and solution orientated advice across the areas of Native Title, Cultural Heritage, Land Access and Planning, and other areas where an approval is required.
- closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the project benefits are understood.Maintain and foster strong relationships with all stakeholders, especially First Nations stakeholders
- and manage risk in in your area of responsibility in conjunction with other parts of AGIG, in areas including but not limited to safety, people, finance, compliance, quality, deadlines, business continuity, customer specifications, applicable standards and law.
About You
- experience in a similar or related role
- qualifications and/or experience in, project management and subject matter disciplines would be well regarded
- negotiation and project management skills
- in managing people and performance is essential for this role as you build a collaborative Team
- and developed knowledge and experience in Native Title, Heritage and Land Access and Planning regulatory approvals and interdependencies
- stakeholder engagement communication and interpersonal skills especially as it applies to First Nations people
- in facilitating Cultural Heritage surveys and interactions including development of Cultural Heritage Management Plans and Agreements
