Role

The Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh is seeking to appoint an Administrator to provide support to theProperty Director and general administrative support within the Archdiocesan offices.

The role holder should have strong communication skills, good attention to detail and efficient IT skills. Theyshould be proactive, flexible and have the ability to prioritise and organise their work, while also supportingother team members as required. Experience in Health and Safety and/or Property would be beneficial.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, well-organised and strongly motivated person to work with ELJC as itsfirst paid administrator.

ELJC is part of Liberal Judaism and one of a number of autonomous communities in the UK. It is a dynamic, growing anddiverse community with around 150 members and the only Liberal Jewish community in Scotland. Based in Edinburgh,it has members across Scotland and is served by a part time rabbi. Its core aim is to provide services andactivities that embody its values, strengthen its Liberal Jewish identity and meet the wide diversity of itsmembers’ faith, practice and support needs. It is a lay-led community, overseen by an elected Council and is aScottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO).

Your role will be to assist with the regular administrative requirements, contribute to the smooth running of thecommunity, help with communications and support the development of the community. You will have excellentadministrative skills, be able to work on your own initiative and in close contact with the communityleadership. You will have experience of a range of software tools and online systems, excellent keyboard skillsand the ability to work with spreadsheets, databases, newsletters and mailing systems. Working hours will beflexible depending on both the needs of the community and the needs of the post-holder. We are looking for a proactive Senior Caretaker to help care for our buildings and to ensure they are safe,well-presented and ready for various church activities and events. You will be willing to work evenings andweekends and able to undertake a variety of minor maintenance tasks. If you have previously worked as a Janitoror Caretaker, this role may be for you. This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys practical tasks and islooking for a job with flexible hours.

About the role

The key objective is to ensure that our buildings (Principally the Church building and 40 York Place, but alsooffices at 10 and 12 Broughton Street) are prepared, set up and well maintained for a variety of services,meetings, and events. You will also be responsible for training casual caretaking and events team members toassist you with the above.

An important part of the role is to work on Sundays to ensure buildings are set up for our three church services andchildren’s groups. You will be involved in changing over room set ups between services and will be on hand tosupport the Ministry Team.

Prostate Scotland, Scotland’s prostate disease charity is looking for an enthusiastic Communications and SupporterCare Administrator to help us in our communications, supporter care and fundraising. Prostate Scotland is a busyactive charity working across Scotland to inform, support and advance on prostate cancer and disease. You willplay an important role in helping to look after our supporters and fundraisers, assisting with ourcommunications and sending out merchandise to people supporting the charity.

This role will involve:

•Providing support to and administering local level giving and liaising with fundraisers in taking forward activitiesin aid of Prostate Scotland

•Supporting active fundraisers throughout their fundraising journey

•Administering donations and assisting with communications to supporters

•Helping on the development of fundraising and marketing materials and plans to promote Prostate Scotland’s work

•Ensuring that we have up-to-date information on our Customer Relationship Management System.

•Developing, sourcing, managing and dispatching stocks of branded fundraising merchandise and sending these out toour supporters

•Assisting with the co-ordination and development of communications activity with supporters and service users aspart of communications and supporter care team

•Assisting with writing content for social media and website.

Your good people skills will assist us in working with local fundraisers and supporters to help develop fundraisingfor Prostate Scotland in communities and in events across the Scotland. You will also have the opportunity toattend and represent Prostate Scotland at local fundraising and supporter external events.

This new post will play an important role in supporting the charity’s communications and fundraising by providingsupport to and administering local level giving and donations and fundraising events and liaising withfundraisers in taking forward activities in aid of prostate Scotland. The role also will involve helpingadminister donations and assisting with communications with supporters, along with helping on the development offundraising materials and plans to promote Prostate Scotland’s work.

Good administrative, IT and digital skills will be important. Prior knowledge of prostate cancer and disease is notrequired (though helpful) and training about this will be provided.

Occasional travel in Scotland will be required. Management of the post will be from the charity’s Communications andSupporter Care Manager. The post is available on a two-year contract.
