We are a dynamic local business specialising in Residential Construction, focusing on architecturally designed new build projects and Property Development. We currently have projects in the Newcastle and Hunter Regions

We are seeking a full-time experienced Project Manager to be accountable for the overall successful performance of assigned projects. The role is instrumental in driving efficiencies and continuous improvement within a professional team. 

You must be experienced delivering high end architectural residential construction projects within budgeted cost, set time frames, ensuring outstanding quality and full compliance with all WH&S standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities – Overview

  • End to End Project Management of Construction work types including Internal Developments and Client Projects
  • Assist with the Pre-Construction process - tendering / quoting / scope of works 
  • Procurement and management of Subcontractors and Suppliers 
  • Oversee Site Supervision responsibilities for assigned projects
  • Resource and Project Scheduling / Budgeting & Financial Tracking / Cost Control using current systems/applications
  • Checking & approving supplier invoices against budget and contractor progress claims
  • Basic Human Resources / Training functions for Direct Reports
  • Review current processes, procedures and resources and make recommendations to Senior Management for improvement
  • Provide relevant training within capabilities to direct reports, including coaching and mentoring staff in their roles
  • Problem Solving - Think proactively to decipher and resolve project issues should they arise
  • Conduct quality control inspections and internal work audits to ensure industry, WH&S and Australian Standard compliance by staff and subcontractors
  • Management Reporting – weekly and adhoc reporting to Senior Management

Skills and Experience:

  • One or more of the below Tertiary qualifications;-

- Certificate IV Carpentry or equivalent competency

- Bachelor of Construction Management

- Certificate IV in Building & Construction

  • Hold relevant industry skills and experience
  • Significant demonstrated experience in a Construction Management role with a minimum 3 years Residential Construction Supervision experience 
  • Advanced ability to plan, manage and deliver several projects simultaneously through mostly subcontracted resources
  • Proven experience in successful, timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Works cohesively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • KPI-focused with an ability to work to set deadlines
  • High-level organisation skills, demonstrating solution-based thinking
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 and strong technological competency
  • Risk Management knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor staff
